Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Palmful app (“Palmful”, “the app”, “we”) handles your information. Palmful is a portion-tracking app based on the palm method. Our approach is simple: your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud account. We do not run servers that collect your data, we do not use analytics or advertising, and we do not track you.

Information You Provide

To calculate your daily portion norms, Palmful asks you to enter profile details: biological sex, age, height, current weight, target weight, and activity level. You also create daily portion logs (protein, vegetables, fat, and carbs).

Your profile details (biological sex, age, height, current and target weight, activity level) are health-related, so they are stored only on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework and are never synced to iCloud. Your daily portion logs, and the portion recommendations derived from your profile, are synced to your personal iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit (private database). In both cases the data is accessible only to you through your Apple ID, and the developer has no access to it.

Apple Health (HealthKit) Data

Connecting Apple Health is optional. If you grant access, Palmful reads the following data only to pre-fill your profile and calculate your portion norms:

• Biological sex
• Date of birth (used to determine your age)
• Height
• Body mass (weight)
• Workouts from the last 7 days (to suggest an activity level)

How we handle Health data:

• Access is read-only — Palmful never writes to Apple Health.
• Health data is processed on your device only and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
• Values read from Apple Health are stored only on your device and are never synced to iCloud.
• Health data is never used for marketing or advertising and is never shared.
• You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

Purchases

Palmful offers optional in-app tips to support development. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Tip purchases are handled in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Device Storage and Preferences

Palmful stores small app preferences locally on your device (for example, whether Apple Health access has been requested, and app-review prompt state) using the system’s standard local storage. This information never leaves your device.

Diagnostics

If you have enabled sharing of analytics and crash data with app developers in your iOS settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash and performance reports. These reports are provided by Apple, do not identify you, and are used solely to improve app stability.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. Because we never receive your data in the first place, there is nothing for us to disclose to third parties.

Data Retention and Deletion

• On-device data: Deleting the app removes the data stored locally on that device.
• iCloud data: Data synced to iCloud is managed by you through your Apple ID. You can manage or delete it in Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
• Apple Health: Palmful stores no data in Apple Health; you control your Health data directly in the Health app.

Palmful does not require an account, so there is no separate sign-up or login data.

Children’s Privacy

Palmful is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
